Referrals and Fees
Patients are able to self-refer and Joe also accepts referrals through Medicare, the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), the Garrison Health Services Provider Network (Australian Defence Force), and through private health.
Joe's standard fee for clinical psychology services is $210 per session. Patients who are referred by their GP or Psychiatrist through the Mental Health Care Plan can receive up to 10 Medicare funded sessions per calendar year, and are entitled to a Medicare rebate of $128.40 per session (out-of-pocket expense is $81.60). Bulk billing or reduced fee options are available for those who are unable to afford the out-of-pocket expense.
Telehealth psychology sessions are available for clients in specific rural and remote areas, and the Federal Government has more recently extended telehealth psychology to those affected by the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19.
The COVID-19 telehealth items are bulk billed. They can be provided either via video-conference or telephone consultation. These items are available for anyone with a GP referral.
